International Mobilization Global Manifest: Come and Change The World please comment on it!

Dear citizen,

There is an evident gap in the world.

You can imagine well what we are talking about.

We have allowed, one by one, during the last years, all the necessary steps to make this

gap even bigger.

We are all different people, with different ideas, different activities in different countries,

who live in different cultures, who have different opinions and interests.

But we are talking about a matter of human dignity, where unfortunately we have failed.

And we keep on failing.

This gap is increasing, with no benefits for any of us in this. We have forgotten the spirit

of involving our passions and ideas in what we trust. We have let a few take control of

everything and step aside and let them rule alone, for themselves.

We think “it’s too late”. But it is not.

Our political systems have been changing in their hands. It’s not hard for us to think that

they are doing business with our countries, their nature, their richness and their people.

And we resign ourselves everyday, more and more. A few have convinced most of us that

this is “how it works” and there is nothing we can do.

Well.

Probably as many of you, we have values and we have a dignity.

And these are not being represented by our political servants, our governments.

They are capitalizing our values, enslaving our work, playing with our future as people

and nation for comfort and benefits for just a few.

We find no real representation of what we trust and we are not allowed to submit

alternatives.

They care about the big financial institutions, groups and companies.

And they are loosing control on their activities.

We refuse them to continue leading our lives. Others have already reacted and, even

when it’s not being easy for them, they are respecting their beliefs.

We call to a reaction.

We can either stand strong and execute our power as citizens or step aside and organize

new alternatives while not taking part of this big joke.

There is always an alternative. As citizens, we have the power to block and change our

governments when their measures are irresponsible.

Our values are different according to our different cultures, but we find a common base to

express them.

We cannot agree with the policies of our governments that, in general, pay attention to:

· Support big companies and financial groups in the search for their benefit, sacrificing

the social and cultural values and avoiding any ethical behavior.

· The future consequent collapse of the economical system, based in the exploitation of

natural resources and not in their maintenance.

· The decision making system, based in economic interests even with disastrous

consequences to citizens. How can I trust someone who prefers to make 1 million for

creating 1 poor person?

A government like this doesn’t represent us!

We are here to bring a new alternative model by claiming respect to the citizens and

the imposition of right moral and ethical values as main principle for the different

governmental policies.

We need to go back to a healthy and sustainable model of life.

It is NOT a matter of political ideas, religion or philosophy.

It’s a matter of how much we care about our future and the future of the planet.

  5. Proposals for a Common Day of Action for Real Democracy Worldwide Dec 10th 2011

Here is a short statement that Adrià in Barcelona and myself in London put together a few days ago for initial responses from some of our comrades presently meeting in Tunis:

How about a Europe and North Africa / World Without Borders Day of Action for Real Democracy on Dec 10th 2011 ?

Saturday 10th December is World Human Rights Day, which could be a great day for common action. By calling for real democracy but also making general proposals (which would need to be discussed) like self-determination, free movement, social justice, debt cancellation and redistribution of wealth we could draw in the wider public as is being shown in Spain and elsewhere for May 15. And Dec 10th is far enough in the future for groups to make something really big happen. We could also encourage Popular Assemblies in order to plan the day of mobilisation, and for these to continue as ongoing people's assemblies afterwards, in order to found new, permanent institutions of the common, and also to plan further days of action in 2012!

Hope to hear back from comrades about this suggestion for an intermational common day!

  6. Campaign for Real Democracy:

Peoples Assemblies and the world we believe they can bring about ~

    VALUES:

Equality – each person is able to speak and be listened to – there is no elite platform
Difference – we learn from each other’s perspectives; we may disagree, but we listen to one another respectfully and our views become refined through the experience
Solidarity – we are together because we believe in the existence of a common agenda. In spite of our differences, we pursue and find consensus over ideas and shared actions
Sharing – we believe in a society in which sharing and co-operation triumph over competition. We freely share food and other gifts at our meetings
Secularity and Spirituality – we respect and are happy to learn from different belief systems

Ecology – we believe in a new, really democratic society with a very low/zero carbon footprint

Self-determination – we struggle for a new kind of freedom based on community, nurturing, true individuality, and vice versa – “It takes a village to bring up a child”

    DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES:

    (1) Peoples Assemblies make decisions horizontally

    (2) Peoples Assemblies are interested to learn about, try out and embody new democratic practices

    CORE AIMS:

    (1) Real Democracy – PAs should find ways to campaign for a really ecological, democratic society at local, national and global levels
    (2) Decentralisation – to bring this about, sovereignty should be vested at the neighbourhood / community / workplace / study place level

    (3) Internationalism – PA communities link up in solidarity and support across the world
    (4) Ideals – we are interested to bring about a world based on a Reclaimation of the Commons, Truth, Peace, Sustainability, Justice and Compassion above all things and we are willing to fight non-violently to this end
    (5) Peoples Assembly movement – to bring these aims about we are calling for a movement based on the idea of Peoples Assemblies

    IDEOLOGY:

    (1) local, democratic not private or state led provision of public services (the real third way)
    (2) really democratic, people powered globalisation, not capitalist or state-led (the real third "world", or international) as a means in its end, but also a way of forcing the nation states to work together for the good of all

    (3) a new appropriate political economy to match

Taken from Project 2012 / Campaign for Real Democracy webpage at https://groups.google.com/group/project2012/web/crd-principles?hl=

Let's get it together for Dec 10th 2011 and on into 2012 for a huge worldwide democracy mobilisation!

    Love
