Real Democracy Now World Revolution: 40 Reasons to Resist! Governments Exist To Serve People Not Private Interests And Banks!

Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it.
John Adams, Thoughts on Government, 1776

"40 Reasons to Resist!
by Min Reyes

1. …because the Government’s mandate has been to represent corporate greed, not the people’s needs.

2. …because democracy does not happen only at the ballot box; it should materialize every day.

3. …because there are no super heroes, and there never will be: it must be you.

4. …because our collective responsibility to each other trumps any loyalty to a partisan government.

5. …because a true revolution does not start with force; it can only start with freedom of the mind.

6. …because we ought to judge politicians not by what they say but rather by the number of individuals they fail to serve.

7. …because the government is supposed to protect its citizenry from corporate power, not be controlled by it.

8. …because government is held in contempt by the people for putting their self-interest over the citizens.

9. …because Aboriginal communities deserve the same basic necessities such as healthcare, education, and drinkable water.

10. …because no social group is above nor below any other.

11. …because promises are not just political rhetoric; a government needs to keep its word and honor its people

12. …because trust must be earned, and constantly maintained, not simply demanded or assumed.

13. …because a government that silences journalists silences the truth.

14. …because silence never helps bring out the truth.

15. …because complacency to abuse, crime, and corruption makes one an accomplice.
16. …because when we face tyranny, our duty to fight is not for oneself alone, but for all those who share in our struggles.
17. …because authority does not translate to abuse of power and trust.
18. …because a ‘strong stable economy’ requires a strong and empowered working class and cannot be built upon an impoverished citizenry.
19. …because the Universal Declaration of Human Rights allows for freedom of information, a right above and beyond partisan political interests.
20. …because we are humans, and our value as such surpasses material wealth.
21. …because there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe nor popular, but it must be done because it is the right thing to do.

22. …because no revolution ever asked for permission to challenge the status quo.
23. …because the nature surrounding us has given us life; it is not right to put a price on it.
24. …because we must be an example to our children of what is right, what is just, and what is truth.
25. …because partisan ideologies fragment reality, and we don’t live in fragments.
26. …because freedom of information is the only weapon against ignorance.
27. …because a government invading our privacy while remaining secretive itself is a grave assault on democracy.
28. …because whistleblowers would not be needed in a government that truly serves the people.

29. …because poverty is not an individual choice but rather the violent process through which those in power oppress us for profit.
30. …because while poverty is not an individual choice, not attempting to abolish it is a conscious choice.
31. …because reason & truth are enemies of tyranny and ideological oppression.
32. …because a life driven by the need to make ends meet is not living, it is merely surviving.
33. …because there is a fundamental difference between a “market society” and a “society with a market.”
34. …because dignity is not for your government to reward upon you, nor to take from you. Dignity is your birthright.
35. …because the tyranny of a government is directly correlated to one’s fear to take action.

36. …because while ignorance is the weapon that divides, truth and solidarity are the strongholds of humanity.
37. …because laws are written by fallible humans, and embody within them the historical context of dominant power relations.
38. …because even though bad laws can be re-written, the lives they impact are lived only once.
39. …because the rights and freedom we do have, have only been achieved through revolution.
40. …because at the end of it all, we would not want to look back and wish we’d have done it when we had the chance.

Anonymous Lulz Security Hackers Statement: Open Letter To FBI and International Law Authorities

Anonymous & Lulz Security Statement

Hello thar FBI and international law authorities,

We recently stumbled across the following article with amazement and a certain amount of amusement:

http://www.npr.org/2011/07/20/138555799/fbi-arrests-alleged-anonymous-hackers

The statements made by deputy assistant FBI director Steve Chabinsky in this
article clearly seem to be directed at Anonymous and Lulz Security, and we are
happy to provide you with a response.

You state:

"We want to send a message that chaos on the Internet is unacceptable,
[even if] hackers can be believed to have social causes, it's entirely
unacceptable to break into websites and commit unlawful acts."

Now let us be clear here, Mr. Chabinsky, while we understand that you and
your colleagues may find breaking into websites unacceptable, let us tell
you what WE find unacceptable:

* Governments lying to their citizens and inducing fear and terror to keep
them in control by dismantling their freedom piece by piece.

* Corporations aiding and conspiring with said governments while taking
advantage at the same time by collecting billions of funds for
federal contracts we all know they can't fulfil.

* Lobby conglomerates who only follow their agenda to push the profits
higher, while at the same time being deeply involved in governments around
the world with the only goal to infiltrate and corrupt them enough
so the status quo will never change.

These governments and corporations are our enemy. And we will continue to
fight them, with all methods we have at our disposal, and that certainly
includes breaking into their websites and exposing their lies.

We are not scared any more. Your threats to arrest us are meaningless to
us as you cannot arrest an idea. Any attempt to do so will make your
citizens more angry until they will roar in one gigantic choir. It is our
mission to help these people and there is nothing - absolutely nothing - you
can possibly to do make us stop.

"The Internet has become so important to so many people that we have to
ensure that the World Wide Web does not become the Wild Wild West."

Let me ask you, good sir, when was the Internet not the Wild Wild West? Do
you really believe you were in control of it at any point? You were not.

That does not mean that everyone behaves like an outlaw. You see, most
people do not behave like bandits if they have no reason to. We become bandits
on the Internet because you have forced our hand. The Anonymous bitchslap rings
through your ears like hacktivism movements of the 90s. We're back - and we're
not going anywhere. Expect us.

America Join World Revolution: Rise Up in Cairo Egypt Travel To Washington DC Take The Square October 6 For Real Democracy Now

First Cairo Egypt And Now Washington DC: Tent City Occupation Begins Oct. 6, 2011
by cardiffrevolution

Finally, a large, and rapidly growing, coalition of left wing and progressive activists, and organizations, is coming together with a clear and united platform. Hundreds of thousands are expected to descend on DC this coming October, 111 days from now, not just to march in a permitted parade and then return home, but to stay and occupy Freedom Plaza indefinitely, until their demands have been met.

The Bonus Army, made up of WWI veterans, did precisely this in 1932 so that they could be paid the money that the government owed them for their service, performed more than a decade earlier, and be able to feed their families during the horrible early years of the Great Depression. They were met with violence from the police and two of the veterans latter died from their wounds. The army was also called in and the protest was finally put down after almost six weeks.

In 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Junior was on his way to a permanent tent city being established on the Capitol grounds in Washington, called Resurrection City, as part of his ‘Poor Peoples’ campaign. He was murdered while in Memphis, on his way to the event. After his murder, the army was used to clear the demonstrators and their tent city.

Both of these prior events share fundamental principles with the October 2011 action. Illegal foreign wars, high unemployment, cuts to services and wages while increasing costs and taxes, and corporate influence over political institutions and policies are just as current today as they were at either of those times.

Wage disparity is worse than ever. Jobs are being lost, benefits cut, and homes foreclosed on while the financial elite are boasting record profits. The politicians they’ve paid for are busy stripping away any rules, regulations, and responsible taxation, in return for campaign donations and lucrative post-public-office positions. Plainly speaking, it’s the politician’s jobs to hold us down while Big-Finance, Big-Business, and any other well-heeled special interest with an army of lobbyists rapes us, robs us, and rolls us.

There is a nonviolence pledge that all participants are asked to sign even though it can be expected that the DC police, and the Federal Security Forces, are unlikely to have any such pledge of their own. Information and tips regarding peaceful civil disobedience, your rights, and your responsibilities, will be shared as the event approaches both at the main site as well as in regular updates here at News Junkie Post.

The left has been slow in their response to the loud rantings of the extreme right. A unified and focused effort that brings all those with shared fundamental principles together has taken some time to organize, but that time is here. In One Hundred Eleven days, on October 6, America will show up on the lawns of the Capitol and will not move until they have been heard, and the appropriate responses are forthcoming.

The October2011 site states;

“October 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan and the beginning of the 2012 federal austerity budget. It is time to light the spark that sets off a true democratic, nonviolent transition to a world in which people are freed to create just and sustainable solutions.”

The event beginning October 6 is endorsed by a growing list of participating organizations that include ANSWER, Backbone Campaign, FireDogLake, The Green Party USA, Progressive Democrats of America, Single Payer Action, Veterans for Peace, War is a Crime, Food Not Bombs, Ted Rall – author of The Anti-American Manifesto, Code Pink, World Can’t Wait, United National Antiwar Committee, National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance, and many more. In addition to these organizations, there are currently more than twenty media outlets besides NewsJunkiePost.com that will be covering and carrying this event and all related and relevant information.

Also from the October2011 site;

“Previous demonstrations were one-day events which were simple for the Administration and Congress to ignore” Margaret Flowers, another organizer, told me. “The large demonstrations usually happened on weekends when there was little going on in Washington. “This is different because it is an occupation that begins on a Thursday, a day of business, and will continue.”
They will keep the heat on. “We intend to stay and to have waves of nonviolent civil resistance. The time for symbolic actions has ended. Too many people are suffering and dying here and around the world because of the policies of this nation. The planet is suffering because of the policies of this nation. This government has demonstrated that it is incapable of acting in the best interests of the people and planet. We say that this is unacceptable and we will stay and resist until this changes,” Flowers said.

The goal of the protest can be found in this excerpt from the pledge found on the October2011 site;

“I pledge that if any U.S. troops, contractors, or mercenaries remain in Afghanistan on Thursday, October 6, 2011, as that occupation goes into its 11th year, I will commit to being in Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C.,…where we will NONVIOLENTLY resist the corporate machine until our resources are invested in human needs and environmental protection instead of war and exploitation…”

The question of ‘if’ it’s going to happen is already settled; comprehensive planning by a large and committed coalition has ensured that. The goal is to sustain the action for as long as it takes. Pack small, pack smart, and pack to make it last. The action will begin during the beautiful low 70′s weather of early October in DC, but the hints of winter will only be a few weeks off. As a group, problem solving can be done as things develop, but, preparation can save a lot of frustration and strengthen the groups morale and resolve.

We have seen the response to such demonstrations in Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, and Syria. One always hopes that their own government will be more civil, and more democratic, and, indeed, this is everyone’s hope. But, make your back-up plans, contact plans, bail contacts, emergency numbers, etc. Good planning and preparation are what will ensure success.

A volunteers list is already being organized through October2011.org to manage logistics and supplies. Transportation programs are also available at the October2011.org site. A method for receiving donations has already been established and, it too, can be accessed through the October2011 site. Bookmark their page and check back here for any further details as they are available.

Mark your calendars: October 6, 2011, 111 days from today. Arrange to have the time off; as much as possible but preferably for the duration. I’ll see everyone there.

MarchaIndignada Spanish Outraged Marches Videos: SpanishRevolution EuropeanRevolution WorldRevolution

España MarchaIndignada Spanish Outraged Marches
Videos of the “outraged” marches heading for #Madrid 15M marchaindignada

The six marches headed for Madrid will arrive on the 23rd and 24th of July, here you can find a schedule for all the activities going on during that weekend (the site is in Spanish but can be translated easily using Google toolbar). They will be received by a huge protest, complete with buses coming from all over the country.

Marcha Indignada Spanish Outraged Marches
Below is a couple of videos from different routes, where you can see their day by day lives, how they have been marching across the rural areas of Spain preaching the 15M ideology and enlisting people for the cause who are too far away to participate directly.

Happiness is overwhelming as one of the marches arrives to one of the towns near Madrid:

Israel Take The Square: Camps Assemblies in Israel-Palestine World Revolution

Camps & Assemblies in Israel-Palestine LATEST

Spirit of revolution starts in Tel Aviv, sweeps across Israel
Hundreds visit tent compound on Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv to protest rising house prices; similar sites planned for Be’er Sheva, Netanya, Kfar Sava and Kiryat Shmona.

The “tent city” protest against high housing prices that began last week in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem is to expand this week to other venues around the country. http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/news/spirit-of-revolution-starts-in-tel-aviv-sweeps-across-israel-1.373613

Many movements and individuals have joined the struggle. Camps are planned in several cities, the national student union has joined and plans to set up camps in three campuses. Spontaneous initiatives keep popping up, like a feminist tent, a group planning a weeklong “rage” actions, and a “revolution market”.

The Tel Aviv encampement is still in place. No one has tried to evacuate us. We were on the front page of every major newspaper. Hundreds came throughout the day, well-known artists are performing, and all the TV channels were here. The prime minister issued a statement saying he is aware of the housing crisis and is trying (?) to solve it: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4096312,00.html

The protests are spreading across Israel!

“Protesters said they had received a letter from the leaders of Spain’s M15 protest movement, which two months ago brought hundreds of thousands of people onto the streets to protest the country’s high unemployment and high housing prices. “What we did is similar to what you are doing this very moment,” the letter said.”

16th July Update from Habima Square, Tel Aviv:

“People just started chanting: R-E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N!!!! ”

Assemblies started today in a more organized manner. We’re using a version of the guide from the assembly dinamization committee in Madrid. In the evening more people come, the media is here, and musicians come to perform. There’s an alimentation team that makes meals for everyone camping. There’s still a lot of confusion about the political goals of the protest, but now it’s being discussed in the assemblies. Police is keeping quiet, but they already threatened to evacuate us before Sunday.

Thanks to our friends in Spain. We’re moving forward!

15th July:

Hi everyone!

I’m writing to you from the new protest camp in Habima Square in Tel Aviv, where dozens of tents have been set up and hundreds of people have been participating throughout the day. There is music, people are bringing food, and there is a lot of talk about how to organize and how to move forward. The knowledge we got from Spain is priceless. It’s been a bit chaotic till now, it’s unclear how long this can last and when the police will come to evacuate us, but for now they are leaving us alone. People are angry about prices of housing, food, and basic living, and they’re very upset with the politicians and the government. But it’s still unclear whether this will go any further than music and camping on the street. They had a small assembly this afternoon, but I heard mixed reactions about how it went. Tomorrow we will try again.

We opened a twitter account. We’re writing mostly in hebrew, but we’ll try to write some in english as well: @TLV_Revolution

Beautiful photos here: http://www.ronengoldman.com/?p=1418

I will try to write more soon, there’s little time and a lot of work.

Cheers from Tel Aviv!

Anonymous Hactivists Hackers Hacked NATO Servers Promise Release Leaked Documents

NATO hacked by Anonymous

Hackers from Anonymous claim to have lifted 1 GB of data from NATO servers.

Computer hackers working for the activism collective Anonymous announced today that NATO has been the target of their latest Internet punishment against the evil system.

In a tweet today from the hacktivist group responsible for such high-profile infiltrations as ones perpetrated again Mastercard, Visa and PayPal in the past, Anonymous announced that, “Yes, we haz [sic] more of your delicious data.”

Anonymous doesn’t intend on disclosing all of what they’ve lifted from NATO servers, however — that, says the group, would be “irresponsible.” So far they have only released a single PDF file of a document headed with the message “NATO Restricted” dated to August of 2007. The group has hinted that some of the info will be leaked in the days to come.

The group notes that they have obtained roughly 1 GB of computer data.

One spokesperson for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization tells the Telegraph that it is investigating the claims. "We strongly condemn any leak of classified documents, which can potentially endanger the security of NATO allies, armed forces and citizens,” says another NATO spokesperson that would not be named by the AP.

While law enforcement officials and investigators worldwide are largely condemning an attack on such an established and powerful institution, Anonymous has fired back, taking a jab at the operations of associated governments. In a document released in conjunction with fellow hackers LulzSec today, Anonymous responds to a message from FBI Deputy Assistant Director Steve Chabinsky in which he calls Anonymous’ actions “unacceptable.”

“Now let us be clear here, Mr. Chabinsky, while we understand that you and your colleagues may find breaking into websites unacceptable, let us tell you what WE find unacceptable,” responds Anonymous.

The hackers add their own complaints against “the FBI and international law authorities” include “Governments lying to their citizens and inducing fear and terror to keep them in control by dismantling their freedom piece by piece” and “Corporations aiding and conspiring with said governments while taking advantage at the same time by collecting billions of funds for federal contracts we all know they can't fulfil.”

“We become bandits on the Internet because you have forced our hand,” write the hackers. “The Anonymous bitchslap rings through your ears like hacktivism movements of the 90s. We're back – and we're not going anywhere. Expect us.

Anonymous offshoot LulzSec has previously attacked the computer servers of the CIA, Senate and SONY, among others. On Monday they hacked the website of News Corp’s The Sun and earlier today revealed that they would be releasing emails obtained from the servers of News of the World.

MarchaIndignada Spanish Outraged Marches Reach Madrid on July 23: EuropeanRevolution WorldRevolution

Marches from around Spain will reach Madrid on the 23rd, protest planned marcha indignada European Revolution World Revolution

Originally published in Spanish at www.publico.es

“Indignants” from all around Spain are marching towards Madrid. The expedition, of around 500 people, will reach the capital on the 23rd of June, where they will be received with a protest outside Congress. The first walkers will be seen outside the city on Friday the 22nd, and on Saturday they will join other protesters that will arrive in buses to walk the last stretch of the way.
The initiative started in Barcelona, but it was in Valencia where they first set themselves on the road on the 20th of June. After they started, many other cities with 15M camps followed suit. The march is divided in six routes: eastern, southern, southeastern, northern, northeastern, northwestern. The western route did start to march but went home soon.

The walkers’ routine

The day starts, for most of the travelers, at five in morning. After lifting camp and having some breakfast they prepare themselves to march the daily 20 to 22 km.
“It’s a beating, but by now are bodies are used to it”, says Aldo, who is taking part in the march that started in Barcelona. They walk for six hours every morning and spend most of the afternoon speaking with the people in the small villages that they pass on the way.
“We started out with a mentality that we had to change. At first we had a megaphone and we shouted out slogans. But as we went further into the heart’s of the towns we tried a warmer approach, which in the end was more productive”, explains Guzman, from the Valencian march.
The ones who started the march know that is isn’t an easy job to get people to join them. Jorge, from Murcia, explains:

“We have 16 and 200 km behind our backs. Every town motivates us, telling us to keep on going. They know what we’re doing and they support us”

David says: “The Civil Guards accompanied us because we were walking by a highway, but they didn’t fine us”. One of the most surprising aspects is the attitude that the Security Forces of the State have taken. “Three days ago, the Civil Guard escorted us because we were walking near highway, they left us on service road and didn’t fine anyone”, says David from Bilbao.

The peculiar note comes from the Northeast. Pablo Novoa, from Galicia, says that for four hours he had some very strange partners. “The public television from South Korea accompanied us for an interview. They were interested in the movement because in their countries they have protests coming form the Universities”.

An unforgettable experience

“The most important thins is that from different points of Spain people have decided to walk to Madrid, rejecting corruption, with the desire of more government transparency and asking for a new model of participative democracy”, states Pablo. Fro Daniel, from the march of Asturias, participating is a challenge: “It is an incredible experience and for me, with my crutches, it’s huge challenge. On a collective level it is has been very gratifying, we complement each other and we make it work”.
The movement has different platforms of diffusion via social networks that are being updated frequently. They have a blog where they are sharing the adventure through a diary, where they tell their experience, the place they are, as well as anecdotes or needs.

Every march has similar needs: food, water, sanitary material, backup cars, but above all, solidarity. The are looking for people that want to collaborate offering a place to rest or a hand setting up tents, and of course, people willing to share ideas. Enrique from La Rioja, says that the march has fundamentally two objectives. It’s about “extending and informing about the movements ideas to people who cannot move to capitals or larger cities, as well as collecting proposals and ideas to put them all together and keep on working”.

Even though there are 100 days left for the massive protest planned for the 15th of October, the plans for the future are much larger and more ambitious, such as the creation of a social forum for the people of Spain and a larger one for Europe as a whole. The people that are marching are planning the creation of a book that will collect their experiences.

“We are telling the villages that they are not alone”

Interview with Carlos Pinto. From the Southeastern route.

1 – Since when are you part of the 15M movement?
From the first day. I was camped for two weeks in Malaga, but I had to go home because of my University. I feel fully identified with the eight points that have been put forth by Real Democracy Now.
2- What led you to join the march?
I had always wanted to walk through Spain with nothing but a backpack. In the camp we had talked about the possibility, half jokingly, to go to Madrid. When the possibility became an actual chance then I didn’t hesitate.
3 – What has been your role in the project?
Organizing the Malaga route, and afterwards, when Granada decided to join us, adapting it.
4- How is your day by day?
We are a very diverse group. We had a 17 year old girl that already left us and at the same time we have a 71 year old man that is still going on, and by now we are great friends. We are joined together by the common cause. Even though the heat is extreme and the water isn’t readily available, the hospitatily that people from these rural areas have shown towards us is huge.
5- What objectives are you after?
We are trying to explain the participative model as well as to collect propositions and demands. It is about telling the villages and rural areas that they are not alone.

Syntagma square People’s Assembly Press-Release To Athens Mayor World-Revolution European-Revolution Greek-Revolution

To the Mayor of Athens:

After a proposition of the thematic assembly of Direct Democracy, the People’s Assembly of Syntagma answers once more to the Mayor of Athens Mr Kaminis, regarding his statements, his intentions and all comments in the press that refer to a plan of “evacuation” of the square. The announcement is the following:

*To Mr Kaminis*

Following a government order, you have stated that you are going to empty Syntagma square, undertaking thus, the task of executing an unconstitutional act since in our Constitution the article 11 protects categorically the right of the citizens to gather and assemble. We remind to you that the public spaces belong to the citizens.

For 45 days the citizens of Athens, the city of which you are the mayor, are gathering and protesting peacefully at public spaces and squares. We fight for justice and dignity and we deny obedience to unconstitutional and unjust laws and memoranda that literally destroy our lives.

For 45 days now the people’s assemblies implementing democracy in action have caused worldwide interest, and touristic interest on top of that. Yet for 45 days now you ignore us, openly. Instead of taking your place with us in the movement of Syntagma square, you rush to comply with the governments orders against us. Still you claim, falsely, knowingly, that for any tourist cancellations and wilting of the commercial center of the city, those to blame are the “indignant”! But you know (only too well) that thousands who have passed by, are passing by, or stay at Syntagma, Greeks and foreigners, but not only do not decrease on the contrary, they reinforce tourism and commercial activity.

You have said no word as t the consequences on tourism cause by the state terrorism of the 15, nor of the chemical orgy, provocateurs and police violence the 28th and 29th, not ony in Syntagma square but also at Pagrati, Stadium, Monastiraki and Aeropageitou st.e.t.c. Nor have you said a word about the consequences of all this violence and terrorism to the commercial activity near Syntagma and downtown Athens.

You said nothing about the attack of hordes of DIAS against shops at Ermou, and the acts of violence even against tourists. You took no position against the violence of the forces of repression acted on the citizens of your city and you refused even to discuss the issue during the city council meeting. Not a word on the disasters caused by repression and the government’s MAT forces to the public space of the city and the Syntagma square in special. Nor about the thousands of chemicals that the praetorians of Mr. Papoutsis has spread at the expense of health and safety of the Athenians.

You have not proceeded to a single intervention to prevent the uncontrollable police violence that resulted in hundreds of injuries. It was out of luck and our solidarity that we had in the end of the day no dead people. You said nothing about the organized by the police plan of promoting drug addicted people towards Syntagma square. If some homeless or drug addicted find refuge there it is because nobody hunts them down. If their presence insults your aesthetics we remind you that they are the victims of the callous state and municipal politics, for which you are also responsible. Instead of chasing them therefore from street to street and square after square, it is your duty to resolve their problems, give them hope, find them refuge and provide them with medical care, so they can go regaining their lost dignity.

Let us not forget, that the majority of those in tents in Syntagma is composed by people who left their homes and their lives, to materialize in action the square slogan “We will not go unless they leave”.. It is these decisive people that the current status of power fears and insults. Mr Kaminis When the citizens were in danger you were conspicuous by your absence. Those critical days and hours Athens had no Mayor…

Let aside thus the pretexts and admit that you have an order to collaborate to the plan of dissolving the people’s assemblies. Will you comply to the suggestions of a violent and unjust government that you serve willingly till today, and finally turn openly against the citizens of your city? Will you instead of Mayor and People’s Advocate, abject to being their prosecutor and an accomplice to the violence forced on them?

We are not only the “ indignants” that the media sketch, we are active citizens, decided to struggle in every way we will co-decide, through our assemblies, till all those who brought us to this state leave: Government, Troika, memoranda and medium austerity programs, banks and their representatives, e.t.c

Till we get back our lives and install a real democracy of equality, justice and dignity. The people’s assembly concerns all citizens. You can come as a citizen yourself and express your views, as everyone else.

*People’s Assembly of Syntagma square the 10th of July 2011*

Berlin Germany Outrage People International Assembly Democracia Real Ya

International group Berlin

General assembly, Am Lustgarten
Asamblea general, Lustgarten
Generalversammlung, Am Lustgarten

Next Berlin General Assembly will take place at Lustgarten next Monday, July 25, at 7pm

A wave of outrage is currently prompting the people around the world to band together and take action to bring the power back where it belongs. We are really tired of seeing how unfair the world is and we think that a better world is possible.

Focusing in our case, we realized the significant role Berlin has in that, a very international city full of people coming from different cities, races or cultural backgrounds trying to live together, through respect and tolerance.

Many of the people living here, feel close to the movements resulting from this wave of outrage, as many of us feel that the problems are the same in the different countries, have a common origin, and therefore a common solution.

The main objective of this international group is to join the people that share this feeling in order to establish a net to unify forces taking action locally, without being under any political party or ideology. We all love Berlin and there are many problems to solve, more important than any personal belief.

A group of people have organized a kick-off meeting next Monday (July, 25st), where you are more than welcome. We meet for the first time to discuss about our goals, organization and anything we might come up with. The meeting will take place at 19:00 in General assembly, Am Lustgarten, here in Berlin.

We are posting this invitation because we are looking for conscious people, who are aware about current social problems and also have a really strong conviction that a change is possible. If you like this idea you could help us in two ways:

- If you live in Berlin we would like you to come, meet us and … hopefully join us.
- If you know people in Berlin that would be interested, it would be great if you could please pass them this information.

The first meeting will be held in English. But if you do not feel comfortable with this language there are people that speak many other languages (German, Spanish, Greek, French, Turkish…) and would help you with the translations.

We hope to see you and/or your friends.

Wall-Street Casino Corporate Mafia: Financial Crimes on Wall Street and the World Debt Crisis

Financial Crimes on Wall Street and the Debt Crisis

by Bob Chapman

Crime on Wall Street, in banking and in corporate America pays. One just neither admits or denies and lets the corporate shareholders pay the fines. These are today’s untouchable, who steal billions and get away with it. Financial institutions are too big to fail, as are their key employees.

To a great extent fraud and other criminal behavior caused the credit crisis and lack of recovery that we have witnessed over the last 5 years. We have had top officers of firms see their companies headed for trouble and with this inside knowledge they have cashed out their share holdings. Then there were the predatory lenders, syndicators of bonds, which contained mortgages, now known as toxic waste, that were criminally given AAA ratings when they deserved BBB. We had some 1,000 corporate officers who backdated their options. Only one was criminally prosecuted when they all should have been.

Prosecutions have come few and for between, because the SEC, CFTC and the Justice Department aid and abet these crooks in order to keep harmony in the system, which is coming unglued. They have always done this, but over the past 5 years even the uneducated can see what has and is taking place. In fact the more outrageous the crime, the less it is liable to be pursued. This non-pursuit of crime needless to say encourages more crime and further damages overall corporate and financial sectors. There is no accountability and we see none in the future. Let there be no mistake this financial crisis is worse than the last depression. This continuing degenerative process can only assist in a further degeneration of the system.

A bill has been introduced by Senator Carl Levin, chairman of the permanent subcommittee on investigations, that would change IRS regulations that allow American traders of credit default swaps to avoid paying federal taxes on transactions initiated in the US. It would tighten rules that enable some hedge funds and US corporations to reduce federal tax liabilities by declaring themselves foreign companies and moving a small part of their operations overseas. It would require companies to provide the SEC and the public, with a country-by-country breakdown of their sales, employment and operations.

Senator Levin says that abuse of offshore havens cost American taxpayers $100 billion a year. Presently American transnational conglomerates have more than $2 trillion stashed offshore waiting for another tax break like the one five years ago that allowed them to bring $350 billion home at 5-1/4% instead of regular taxation of 35%. That works out to about $600 billion lost to the Treasury. Gains from traders would be $20 billion over ten years. The removal of these tax breaks would certainly help cut the budget deficit.

The crisis in Greece is finally causing contagion in Italy. The crisis of all six near bankrupt euro nations is upon us and it is permanent. Moody’s just downgraded Ireland again, at the worst possible time. Spain, which is in terrible shape, will soon follow. The EU members and their controllers, the banks, keep trying to put band-aids on their festering problem. Sooner or later they will have to face the music and that is those six nations will all have to go bankrupt along with the banks. All of you subscribers in the EU and UK get your funds out of the bank, now, and into gold and silver coins. If you don’t you may end up with nothing. If this goes on long enough it will take the presently solvent nations down as well.

The European Union and the euro zone were ill conceived and bound to failure. After having lived in Europe for years, and being able to speak several of their languages, you get to understand people and the way they think. Both entities were anthropologically unnatural. Europe is still tribal. Just look at countries like Germany, France and Belgium where people speak different variations of the same language. In Belgium they speak two distinct languages. The EU’s major flaw was sovereign countries ran their own fiscal policies, as bureaucrats ran the EU. You have to either federalize all the way or forget it. The euro zone foisted one interest rate fits all, all on countries that should have never had the same interest rates as say Germany. We talked about both these issues 14 years ago, but as usual, no one was listening. From the very beginning the EU and the euro zone were doomed. Both are going to now begin the process of disintegration, as both are a failure. The six countries will go bankrupt, as will the banks. That will dislodge England and push it into bankruptcy and that in turn will force the US to follow. That may be the catalyst that forces a meeting of all nations to revalue, devalue and multilaterally default, hopefully such a meeting will occur long before this stage is reached. There is no question now that the game is over. The question now is when?

Workers have become a form of inventory just like widgets. For years now companies have laid off and rehired workers at will, keeping the expensive worker participation to a minimum. If you use total figures and include discouraged workers the unemployed are 20.6 million, up 483,000 in June. We do not see stimulus 3 coming from Congress, so we expect unemployment to resume its relentless rise upward from 22.6%. Mind you unemployment reflects $1.7 trillion in stimulus 1 and 2, and QE 1 and QE 2, which takes us well over 44 trillion. All those injections did was to bail out the financial sector and government. As we know our President tells us the administration created three million jobs, at a cost of $266,000 per job. That is hardly something to write home about. Corporate America is in excellent financial shape, but they will be slow to hire until they see a firm recovery in place. Sure GE made $17 million, because they did not pay taxes as we do, but they won’t rush out to hire unless the reason to hire exists. The real opportunity to hire has to be with small business that hires 70% of Americans. They do not enjoy the tax-free status of GE. Most of these small companies are barely hanging on. These are the companies that banks won’t loan too. Half of them are still experiencing falling profits, only 20% are doing well.

Year-on-year in the municipal sector 450,000 workers are going to lose their jobs, because many of these entities are close to broke. They and the states want more money from the federal government, which it doesn’t have to give. Large, very profitable businesses generally create very few jobs. They and mid-sized companies are buying more and more labor saving equipment, or they are moving production offshore. For the last three years most of the new jobs paid subsistence wages. Those are $8.00 to $11.00 an hour jobs, which are really part-time providing a 34.3-hour week, as inflation roars ahead up 10.6% and headed up to 14% by yearend. The average duration of unemployment is at an all-time high and 44% unemployed have been out work six months or more, at an all-time high.

We had a gentlemen call in on one of our programs, he has a masters and had been out of work for four years. He went to a company and told management he would work for nothing in order to learn to operate a forklift. After training he got a job doing that work at a plumbing company. He has the distinction of beating out 26 other applicants. He has been told in 1-1/2 years they will be an opening for him in accounting, his major. This is the state of America today, as our transnational conglomerates ship our jobs out of the country every day.

We figure a debt extension bill is on the way, but it will only cut $150 to $200 billion a year in government spending, hardly an accomplishment. If the Fed does not inject $850 billion into the economy we are looking at a minus 3% to 5% in GDP. That is in addition to buying $1.7 trillion in treasuries and other associated toxic waste.

The newest recession began a few months ago, or should we say downturn in an inflationary depression. There will be no recovery this year or next without $850 billion additional being thrown into the economy. No 3.5% growth. Perhaps a minus 4% if we are lucky. That should put unemployment close to 25% by 2012. After the news comes out that the term debt deal has been done the stock market will begin to slip downward.

As this transpires we see a million more foreclosures and more the following year. In order for the economy to revive housing it has to revive and we see absolutely no chance of that happening over the next two years. As the Fed supplies buckets of money and credit inflation will scream upward. 25% to 30% is already in the pipeline for next year via QE and Stimulus 2. There is no way that can be stopped. That will be added to by the results of QE 3 in 2013. We wish it won’t be this way, but it is.

There has been an inevitability since August 15,1971, that America and the western world would move from crisis to crisis until the financial and economic system eventually collapsed.

For those who have been objective over those years what we are seeing today is no surprise.

No one in America wants the merry-go-round to stop. Americans are not prepared to face the music. They naturally want more debt creation, but interestingly by 70%, they did not want a short-term debt extension. That is understandably confusing and the reason is that when it comes to economy and finance they are really in the dark. What they truly do not understand along with much of Wall Street is that the debt problem is much worse and deeper then they believe.

The problems in Europe are never ending. The solvent countries are discovering what we discovered a year ago May. The cost of the six-country bailout we projected at $4 trillion. A month ago we increased that to $4 to $6 trillion. When we said $4 trillion Germany said $1 trillion. This past week they said $3.5 trillion. We wonder why it took them so long to catch up. As of this writing the Greeks have signed a bailout deal but the lenders still do not know what they want to do. They are finally reaching the realization that they cannot be serviced never mind be repaid. You can cut wages and spending 40% or 50% and not expect revenues to fall. That means the bankers get paid and no one else does. That is what Wall Street’s game is all about.
