European Revolution Portugal, Spain, Greece, Italy, Ireland: Southern Europe Must Revolt Against Price Stability; That Depends A Future of Prosperity Or Deep Depression"; Christopher T. Mahoney Ex-Vice President Moody's

Southern Europe Must Revolt Against Price Stability
It’s time for a revolution in the eurozone; the time for polite discussion has ended. What is at stake is not a percent or two of economic growth in the South, but rather the difference between a future of prosperity and a future of depression. The mindless happy talk of unity, solidarity and an ever closer union is now irrelevant and in bad taste. People are eating out of trash bins, and an entire generation is living on the dole.

If the South continues to permit the North to administer the poisonous medicine of monetary deflation and fiscal austerity, it will suffer needlessly for years. Yes, we all know that the ECB was modeled after the Bundesbank and part of the deal for Germany was that the euro would be as strong as the mark. But that was then, and this is now.

The eurozone is a multinational republic in which no country, no matter how high its credit rating, can act as hegemon. Germany has just two votes on the ECB’s governing council, not control and not a veto. Germany is  just another member of the union, and the Bundesbank is just another regional branch of the Eurosystem. The ECB treaty was not intended as a suicide pact, and it can be interpreted liberally enough to permit what has to be done. If the constitutional court objects, then Germany can exit. She can’t force anyone else to.

The revolution must be led by France, Italy and Spain. They have already acted together at the last summit, when Monti refused to adjourn until Merkel made major concessions (since rescinded) about bank bailouts. These three men, Hollande, Monti and Rajoy, must form the nucleus of a bloc within the eurozone that demands open-ended QE until eurozone nominal growth rises to the mid-single-digits, and stays there.

First of all, there may already be enough votes on the governing council to ram QE through the Berlin Wall. Failing that, the bloc can refuse further austerity and threaten exit unless the ECB capitulates. Sadly, Mario Draghi is a cipher in all this, having sworn allegiance to the single mandate in order to get Merkel’s approval as president. He cannot lead the rebellion, nor would it be appropriate for him to do so.

What I am advocating is a public break with the Bundesbank and its ideological satellites, and a categorical rejection of minimal nominal growth and fiscal retrenchment. The Southern Bloc must demand nominal growth targeting, unsterilized bond-buying, and an end to self-strangulation by austerity. Those policies have been tried and they have failed for two years.

The South cannot balance its budget without inflation, nominal growth, and rising nominal government revenue. Structural reform is nice but at this stage quite irrelevant. Budget cuts and labor market reforms are not and must not be a prerequisite for nominal growth. Those are shibboleths unrelated to medium-term growth, and they would be much easier to implement in the context of growth.

Before this heart-rending tragedy is over the South will revolt, but probably when it is too late. The time is now, before Spain and Italy are forced to drink the Troika’s strychnine and arsenic. France, as a continental leader with market credibility, must lead this effort. Germany and its allies will think twice before going mano a mano with France.

The cost to the creditor powers will be higher inflation and a decline in value of their claims on the South, but that must occur one way or another. Inflation is much preferable to repudiation, which is the only other viable alternative.

Maybe it would be more prudent to conduct this revolt in private, but my sense is that it can only work as a public ultimatum. Europe successfully stared down Russia on many occasions during the cold war; she can do the same with Germany today.

OWS World Revolution Antibanks Music: Talking Italy, Portugal, Spain Austerity! Michel Montecrossa! Occupy Wall Street

Talking Italy, Portugal, Spain Austerity

Michel Montecrossa's 'Talking Italy, Portugal, Spain Austerity - song for 15 October 2011 Global Mass Protests'

Michel Montecrossa says:

"The song 'Talking Italy, Portugal, Spain Austerity' is dedicated to the Global Mass Protests of 15 October 2011, the day of Global Revolution for change in finance and politics.
'Austerity', 'Downgrading', 'Bail Out' are slogans used by bankas and politos to hide the simple trick of taking away the people's tax money and giving it to the banks and the rich so that the 99% get poorer and the 1% gets richer.
Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece and always more countries are threatened by this wrong banka and polito action.""

Song Lyrics
TALKING ITALY, PORTUGAL, SPAIN AUSTERITY
Now they drive us down the road of pain, / the people of Italy, Portugal, Spain. / Just as they do it with the people of Greece / they downgrade us to favor the rich.
A war rages between politos and bankas / for power over us, the people. / The bankas now win almost every day / and drive us down the poverty way.
People wake up! People stand up! / The people know what the people need! / The people can set the people free! / The people, you know, the people are we!
Banka speculators want our tax money / to become bail out funds for them, / want control over us, the only real value, / by turning us into cheap and mindless slaves.
Politos are there to help the people, / not to join the banka-gansta-gang. / Politos must change the financial game, / put right what went wrong for a happy end.
People wake up! People stand up! / The people know what the people need! / The people can set the people free! / The people, you know, the people are we!
People wake up! People stand up! / The people know what the people need! / The people can set the people free! / The people, you know, the people are we!

traduzione testo - Talking Italy, Portugal, Spain Austerity

I bankas ora vincono quasi tutti i giorni

facendoci diventare schiavi a buon mercato e senza cervello.

RealDemocracyNOW Spain: DRY Democracia Real YA Call To Barcelona Hub Meeting 15-18th Sept

DRY Democracia Real YA Call to Barcelona Hub Meeting 15-18th Sept

Dear friends and mates,

For those of us who have experienced 15M movement firsthand, last weeks have been intense. Our daily life has been happily colonized by radical and diffuse political practices, which has been capable of initiating the debate and showing the advanced state of decomposition of representative politics and its servility to economic interests.

Today, new mobilizations are occurring in many places which continue with the long fall of fighting and struggle against austerity policies and the later spring of revolts in

blossom in Iceland and the Mediterranean shores.

Next autumn, lots of real conflicts will cross the world. Attempts to stop radical and democratic movements in the Arab world, and the sanction of austerity policies in Europe, are the closest examples to us. But we know they are not the only ones. We are experiencing together an attack to global society which targets existence as to make it precarious in the name of a very restricted and dominant elite interests.

In the European frame, all these austerity and cutting policies directly affect the foundations of different forms of the European welfare state, which in spite of their differences are the result of many previous struggles. The rights we currently enjoy were not granted by the dominant political class throughout the time. It was social movements, as the proletarian, which achieved the incorporation of a more human and fair perspective of society through mobilizations and other actions. Nobody has given us anything for free; we cannot tolerate anyone to snatch the political and social conquests accomplished so far. We have a historical

legacy to defend together.

Because of these reasons, we are working, from the different DRY (Democracia Real Ya!) nodes, on the global mobilization on October 15th against austerity policies and to build real democratic practices from the bottom up. We would like October 15th to be a territory, inhabited and shared by many people, colectively built, where we can denounce the crisis of power and start building concrete alternatives against material conditions and precariousness of lifestyles.

We consider this to be done through meeting and debate among multiple networks, social movements and processes, which are challenging power arrogance in this common struggle cycle. That is why we propose building up a meeting together from 15th to 18th September. A kind of Hub Meeting where we can talk about this cycle of mobilizations and find possible connection, collaboration and convergence joints between the struggles in which we are taking part.

Because of all above stated, we offer, from Barcelona, to provide the necessary infrastructure which allow us to carry out the meeting and therefore to be able to share analysis, perspectives and strategies to design together a long fall against a global power which each and every day seems, in our opinion, closer to its own twilight.

The different networks, groups and movements, which want to take part in this meeting, will be also able to organize parallel and autonomous meetings everyday. They will have access to the necessary logistic means as places to gather and accommodation, etc (yet to determine)

To make the set-up of this meeting the most collective possible, we suggest that you use, as a shared space, the group “15S Hub meeting”:

https://red.democraciarealya.es/pg/groups/59275/15s-hub-meeting/

To access this tool you must first log on at https://red.democraciarealya.es/ and join the “I” team where the “15S Hub meeting” subgroup is enabled.

As a first way to organize preparatory work, we suggest the following categories: Participating Groups and Networks; Contents; Working Methodology; Logistics and Calendar.

Participating Groups and Networks: a list of participants with a brief introduction.

Contents: collecting proposals of workshops and issues threads.

Methodology: proposal and discussion of working methodologies with the tool online and for the meeting itself.

Calendar: organization of days and times of the meeting.

Logistics: available and necessary resources to carry out the activities and their management.

If you are interested in participating, we’ll appreciate if you can send us an email to 15ShubMeeting@gmail.com in order to construct a list of participants (and their networks) and to planify the resources that we need.

Hoping to meet you in Barcelona, and on the net,

Best wishes,

DRY Barcelona

DRY appears in January 2011 as a citizen mobilization platforms coordinator within a context influenced by the silent Icelandic revolution, the Arab spring and the European mobilizations cycle against austerity policies, which are being implemented as an excuse for their necessity in the context of the current economic and financial crisis, which affects all of us. In this frame, DRY called for a first demonstration last May 15th (15M) to denounce that “we are not merchandise in bankers and politicians hands”. With this mobilization, the precarious ones -workers, students, pensioners, inmigrants…- and different social groups took politics back from the violence of Capital. DRY has actively participated in the “#acampadas” (campsites) movement. DRY supports and actively works on the building up of mobilizations on October 15th on a global level.

People Uprising From Egypt To Athens, Via Spain: Arab Revolution Egypt Revolution Spanish Revolution Greek Revolution European Revolution World Revolution Video
Uprising 2011 Video

From Egypt to Athens, via Spain, people have risen up against autocracy, the impact of the economic crisis and the lack of political democracy.

A World to Win is an organisation that campaigns against corporate power and for people's power. Our view is that this will require the creation of a new political democracy in place of the present capitalist state.

Madrid Spain Spain's 'Indignant': Al Jazeera Video Coverage Puerta del Sol Spanish Revolution

Outraged Spain's 'indignant' Madrid
Spain's 'indignant' converge on Madrid

Two months after launching a movement against the economic crisis and soaring unemployment in Spain, the country's so-called "indignant" protesters have converged on Madrid.

People came from across Spain, all united in frustration about the way they have been treated.

They have been stopping in towns and villages along the way to spread their message of outrage at unemployment, welfare cuts and corruption.

Al Jazeera's Emma Hayward reports from Madrid.

Two months later, Spain's 'indignant' converge on Madrid

Spanish "indignant" activists gather at Constitucion Square before a march through the streets of Madrid which will end at Puerta del Sol Square. Seven cross-country protest marches organised by Spain's "indignant" movement are set to converge Saturday in central Madrid, on the eve of a demonstration in the Spanish capital.

AFP - Two months after they launched a movement against the economic crisis and soaring unemployment, Spain's so-called "indignant" protesters were converging on Madrid again on Saturday.

Seven cross-country protest marches were set to reach the city's Puerto del Sol square Saturday evening on the eve of a demonstration through the streets of the Spanish capital.
Marcha Indignada Spain's 'Indignant' pit stop on the way to Madrid

Protesters carrying sleeping bags and groundsheets set off from cities across the country at the end of June, including Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia and Bilbao, to applause from sympathisers.

They have stopped in towns and villages along the way, holding meetings at each stop to spread their message of outrage at unemployment, welfare cuts and corruption.

In the Puerta del Sol Saturday, organisers were busy setting up tents, tarpaulins and stands.

Some of the placards read: "The guilty must pay for the crisis," and "Cutbacks for the rich first."

A vast ramshackle protest camp in the square was dismantled on June 12 but the group has since mounted a series of protests, rallying an estimated 200,000 people across Spain on June 19.

The protesters have won broad public support in their fight against austerity measures, a 21.29-percent unemployment rate and corruption-tainted politicians.

"We are preparing the camp to receive the marchers from across the country, we are setting up a big kitchen," said Rafael Rodriguez Ballesteros, 56. An unemployed chef, he has been preparing thousands of meals for the demonstrators.

"We have returned to show that the movement is not dead, that it's still alive, despite the holidays."

City residents joined the marchers as they reached the outskirts of Madrid Saturday.

Many more will arrive by bus from about 30 towns and cities on Sunday, when the protesters will march through the streets of Madrid, with the demonstration ending in Puerta del Sol.

"In two months, we have had some good responses," said Fernando Carasa, 26, an anthropology student.

"We have stopped about 60 expulsions, created social pressure, achieved a bigger mobilisation than any political party," he said.

The "indignants" have been blocking bailiffs from expelling people from their homes because they cannot pay their mortgages.

Earlier this month Spain's Socialist government set new limits on the amount of money that banks can reclaim from mortgage defaulters in what was seen as an effort to appease the protesters.

The "indignant" movement emerged after protesters set up camp in the Puerta del Sol in mid-May.

It quickly fanned out nationwide as word spread by Twitter and Facebook, bringing tens of thousands of people into city squares around Spain ahead of May 22 local elections.

15-M movement Madrid Spain MarchaIndignada: Indignados Re-Occupy Puerta del Sol

23rd July Indignados re-occupy Puerta del Sol: around 20 thousand people at Puerta del Sol, Madrid #solrenace #spanishrevolution #globalrevolution

The arrival of the marches at Puerta del Sol was supported for tens of thousands of people and followed by various activities. #Marchaindignada, the Outraged March (or March of the Indignants) was quite successful and after around one month on the road, different groups of the various regions of Spain got to finally arrive at Puerta del Sol, promoting a moment of solidarity, unity and genuine enthusiasm:

On Saturday, the popular marches of the indignant arrived in Madrid — and took back the square.

On Saturday, the indignados brought much of Madrid to a standstill as the popular marches arrived in the city, taking six different routes from all over the country and culminating in a spectacular re-occupation of Puerta del Sol by tens of thousands of protesters.

And so, a month and a half after the original protest camp was broken down, Sol looks like Sol again. With an incredible degree of professionalism, the indignados set up a TV and radio studio, a communications center, a major kitchen, a sound installation, a clinic and more — all in one night.

Some of the marchers had been walking for over 500 kilometers as part of a campaign to spread awareness about the 15-M movement and its demands to the Spanish countryside and to hold popular assemblies with people who otherwise have little opportunity to participate given their geographic location.

The marches received a warm welcome from thousands of indignados and sympathizers as they arrived in Puerta del Sol from six different angles. In the evening, a major popular assembly was held which was closed off with live music. Today, tens of thousands are expected to take to the streets again for a major march through Madrid.

Also, in a sign that the movement is rapidly maturing into a serious platform for civic engagement and political activism, the 15-M movement has scheduled it’s first Social Forum for Monday.

Sol Square, 23 J. The marches arrive from all Spain. #Europeanrevolution #Globalrevolution #Spanishrevolution #mpi23J

DRY INTERNATIONAL June19th Against the Euro Pact: TAKE ALL STREETS AND SQUARES OF ES-UK-FR-DE-IT-PT AND EUROPE

THERE ARE NEW POWERFULL REASONS; ONCE AGAIN, TAKE THE STREETS

June19th, hour: 19:00.

ALL STREETS AND SQUARES OF PORTUGAL SPAIN ALL EUROPE AND ALL AROUND THE WORLD

Protests around the world from Real Democracy now and another organizations against the europact.

DRY INTERNATIONAL June19th Against the Euro Pact: TAKE ALL STREETS AND SQUARES OF ES-UK-FR-DE-IT-PT AND EUROPE

THERE ARE NEW POWERFULL REASONS; ONCE AGAIN, TAKE THE STREETS

June19th, hour: 19:00.

ALL STREETS AND SQUARES OF PORTUGAL SPAIN AND EUROPE

NO TO THE EURO PACT: We are not goods in the hands of politicians and bankers.

The EURO PACT: New attack on democracy ONCE AGAIN.

ONCE AGAIN, the EU leaders endorse a policy misleading the public to the benefit of large financial corporations, instead of defending the citizens.

On 27th June, all European governments, including that of Spain, will sign in Brussels a major socioeconomic daylight robbery of an international scope: the so-called Euro Pact, by which the politicians of the European Union agree to legislate the orders of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), European Central Bank (ECB) and the World Bank (WB).

Failure to comply with these orders means, the rating agencies that have led Greece, Ireland and Portugal to the ruins (Moody's, Standard & Poor's, and Fitch) will resume their attacks.

What do they sign when they ratify the Euro Pact?

AN ENSLAVEMENT PACT!

(Greater sacrifices for the people with austerity measures in the public domain that result in: delaying the retirement age in Europe, wage cuts, elimination of social services, cuts in pensions, cuts in health and education, increasing taxes, cuts in research development & investigation, adjusting wages to productivity and competitiveness, etc. ONCE AGAIN.)

SEE BY YOURSELF:

- The public sector salaries should be consistent with the competitiveness of the private sector, WHICH MEANS: further cuts in the public sector as it must offer the same benefits as the private sector´s derisory wages and increasing working hours. This fascist measures, includes a sharp cut in public employees numbers.

- Therefore all countries should adjust their laws to the dictates of the banks, WHICH MEANS governments are ONCE AGAIN not legislating for citizens interests protection, but in the favors of markets and large banking corporations.

- The new retirement age will be delayed in all the countries in accordance with life expectancy.

- Enhancing competitiveness: linking wages to productivity, just like what has already been done in Spain with the latest labor reform which calls for more flexible redundancy laws, more flexible labor agreements and more flexible contracts, thus endangering the current collective negotiation labor laws system.

- To foster cheap lay-offs and Temporary Employment Agencies (TEA). The banks will lower the financial strains to encourage the hiring of workers, and in doing so will demolish the Social Security system and will be introducing the figure of "the perpetual intern and the perpetual precarious worker”.

- All pensions freezing.

- More Reduction on Social Benefits.

- Social protection Systems Reduction, worsening the Social Security system.

- More Cuts and Reduction on Social Education System, resulting in poorer results, which are conditions that favors and promote its ultimate privatization.

- Increased direct and indirect taxes for citizens, small and medium businesses and penalties for not complying with the payment of these taxes through fines, interest, fees, etc.

- Changes to our constitution and that of the signatory countries with the aim of "adjusting the economy within the parameters of the IMF, ECB and World Bank” resulting in the loss of sovereignty of the people.

ONCE AGAIN, governments do not use political power to legislate and to stop the provokers of the crisis and international banks and large hedge funds, for example, stepping in against financial corporations. Instead, with the signing of the Pact of the Euro scheduled for June 27, will strengthen the large financial corporations and adopt policies that are of interest to banks and large European companies. As if we hadn´t had enough, all governments independently of their political color, will sign this agreement to commit to large financial corporations and thus, as ever, SACRIFICE EUROPEAN CITIZENS ONCE AGAIN, enabling the Global Elite Financiers to continue play with peoples life as coins in a casino, defrauding the world using financial products that are as sophisticated as they are risky and fraudulent, permitting bank usury and more countries bankruptcy.

ONCE AGAIN using deception to deal with debt crisis they create and that grips Europe, increasing false idea and false policy that competitiveness of national economies can only be achieved by reducing labor costs ... ONCE AGAIN.

Still no mention of intervention in tax havens where the great fortunes rest or making laws against tax evasion. Still none talk about taxing financial transactions, no rating agencies regulation, etc. Still none mention of measures against unemployment and in favor of social welfare.

Still there is no consideration for a public and independent audit of the public debt in order to enable citizens to know what the debt really is and what part of it actually corresponds to the banks and private equity funds which according to the data we have constitutes most of the PUBLIC DEBT.

ONCE AGAIN, we are served the impoverishment of society on a platter in benefit of expanding the great fortunes and accentuating the social divide.

In this way, the historical record of the profits of large financial corporations are ONCE AGAIN enlarged even more, the record high salaries of CEOs and executives will increase even more, and thus we reach record levels of poverty and unemployment.

The difficulty of accessing this information is due to the lack of political transparency and the fear that ALL EUROPEAN CITIZENS will TAKE THE STREETS.

WE HAVE POWERFUL REASONS; ONCE AGAIN, TAKE THE STREETS

THERE ARE REASONS; ONCE AGAIN, TAKE THE STREET

19th June, hour: 19:00 (GMT+1)
ALL STREETS AND SQUARES OF SPAIN AND EUROPE

- The public sector salaries should be consistent with the competitiveness of the private sector, WHICH MEANS: further cuts in the public sector as it must offer the same benefits as the private sector´s derisory wages and increasing working hours. Including a sharp cut in the numbers of public employees.

- Therefore all countries should adjust their laws to the dictates of the banks, WHICH MEANS governments are ONCE AGAIN not legislating for the protection and interests of citizens but in the favour of large banking corporations and the markets.

- The retirement age will be delayed in all the countries in accordance with life expectancy.

- Enhancing competitiveness: linking wages to productivity, just like what has already been done in Spain with the latest labour reform which calls for more flexible redundancy laws, more flexible labour agreements and more flexible contracts, thus endangering the current system of collective negotiation of labour laws.

- To foster cheap lay-offs and Temporary Employment Agencies (TEA). The banks will lower the financial strains to encourage the hiring of workers, and in doing so will demolish the Social Security system and will be introducing the figure of "the perpetual intern and the perpetual precarious worker”.

- The freezing of all pensions.

- Reduction of social benefits.

- Reduction of the social protection systems, worsening the Social Security system.

- Reduction of spending on education, resulting in poorer results, which are conditions that favour and promote its ultimate privatisation.

As if we hadn´t had enough, all governments independently of their political colour, will sign this agreement to commit to large financial corporations and thus, as ever, sacrifice the citizens ONCE AGAIN, enabling the financiers to continue defrauding the world using financial products that are as sophisticated as they are risky and fraudulent, and permitting bank usury.

Using the deception that to deal with the debt crisis that grips Europe, increasing the competitiveness of national economies can only be achieved by reducing labour costs ... ONCE AGAIN.

Still no mention of intervention in tax havens where the great fortunes rest or making laws against tax evasion. Still no talk of taxing financial transactions, regulating rating agencies, etc. Still no mention of measures against unemployment and in favour of social welfare.

In this way, the historical record of the profits of large financial corporations are ONCE AGAINenlarged even more, the record high salaries of CEOs and executives will increase even more, and thus we reach record levels of poverty and unemployment.

The difficulty of accessing this information is due to the lack of political transparency and the fear that ALL OF EUROPE will TAKE THE STREET.

THERE ARE REASONS; ONCE AGAIN, TAKE THE STREET
